Julie Courcier is a trainer, runner, motivator and traveler. She obtained her group training certification in 2012 and started her full-time fitness career in 2013. Along with personalized run coaching, Julie teaches strength and stretch classes at Tulsa’s Physiques by Monique studio.
After a 26-year career in the retail industry, and a weight loss of nearly 40 pounds at age 40, Julie started her health and fitness career to help others become healthy and happy. She’s completed more than 20 marathons in 17 states, including completing the 2014 Boston Marathon. Additionally, Julie’s run four ultra marathons and completed two Ironman triathlons. She’s a member of the 50 States Marathon Club.
She’s a graduate of Tahlequah High School and holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Northeastern State University. Community involvement includes serving on the board of directors for the Post Oak Challenge and the steering committee of Tulsa Mayfest. Additionally, Julie is active in Ainsley’s Angels, where she’s able to share the joy of running distance races with those that can’t run themselves.
With experience in personalized and group run mentoring, Julie now holds run coaching certification from the RRCA -Road Runners Club of America. Her personalized approach means that runners of all backgrounds and skill levels can benefit from her expertise. Coming off the couch to get healthy or trying to qualify for Boston; a 20-year-old athlete or a senior citizen looking for movement – Julie’s running or strength training skills can help.
She holds a group certification from A.A.F.A- Athletics and Fitness Association of America, is CPR certified and has completed AED training. Additionally, she’s working toward certification through Schwinn Cycling.
She lives in Broken Arrow with her husband Mark and their two dogs Grace and Kelly. Her interests are travel (she loves road trips) running (alone and with her group of running friends) , scuba diving, dogs, volunteering and creating a sense of community within the Tulsa area.
